«You come back to Spain seeing things differently, and no matter how much I explain what I experienced there or show photos, you can never truly grasp the level of need until you see it with your own eyes.»

Nadia Blesa
GAES Alcobendas – Mozambique with the NGO Yoire

I’ve always wanted to volunteer. It’s an incredibly enriching experience on every level—professionally, but especially personally.

Last year, I had the opportunity to travel to Mozambique with Yoire NGO and the Amplifon Social Project, and the experience did not disappoint. So this year, I was more prepared. Once again, thanks to Yoire and Fundación GAES Solidaria for this incredible gift. Being able to see the kids we fitted with hearing aids last year and bring more devices for those still waiting—and many new people too—is priceless. Khanimambo! (Thank you)

Collaboration with professionals working in various centers in the Macia area was essential to identifying candidates for hearing aid fittings and explaining everything needed to both users and their families. Their role is critical to ensuring proper follow-up for all these cases.

Additionally, the first newborn hearing screening program was launched—pioneering work in Mozambique.

You feel like you're contributing just a grain of sand in a country where the healthcare infrastructure is extremely lacking. Any help is not enough, which is why everything we take for granted back home is a privilege there and hard to come by.

You come back to Spain seeing things differently, and no matter how much I explain what I experienced or show photos, you can never truly understand the level of need until you see it with your own eyes.

I recommend this experience to everyone!"
