The experience in Morocco as a volunteer with Fundación GAES Solidaria was incredible.
From the very beginning, our team clicked: Joan Junoy (audiologist from GAES Girona), Dr. Laborda, Juan from Fundación Repsol, and our two translators, Naima and Mbarek. They were intense days—we were seeing an average of 50–60 people per day.
We fitted hearing aids for more than 50 people—and honestly, I would’ve done 50 more if I could!
I carry many memories in my mind—especially the ones shared with the children. They look at you with eyes that make you feel incredibly special. Just by giving them a T-shirt, a cap, or a pencil case, they’d hug you like you had just given them the entire Toys ‘R’ Us. I realized right away that it takes so little to make them happy.
It’s an experience worth repeating. I hope that someday I’ll have the chance to enjoy something like this again. I will always carry a part of all the people I lived alongside during those days.
