My week in Butajira (Ethiopia) was one of those unforgettable life experiences.
Each hearing aid fitting was incredibly rewarding. The people were so grateful—some even bowed to me and kissed my hands.
But what I’ll never forget were their smiles. Such genuine, heartfelt smiles!
I had the opportunity to assist in the operating room every afternoon. I witnessed countless surgeries. The one that impacted me most was a total ear reconstruction—it was nothing short of a miracle for that country.
An experience I would absolutely recommend. I encourage everyone to volunteer, and I want to personally thank Mª José Gassó and Verónica for choosing me and for all their care and attention.
Together, we can do more! And not just in Africa…
