It’s been the experience of my life! Thanks to GAES Solidaria and Fundación Clarós, I had the joy of doing my work in Cameroon alongside wonderful people who donate their time, their knowledge, and their love to a community that welcomes them with open arms.

We may think it’s not much, but it means a lot to them. We may think these are isolated acts, but they’re not—both GAES Solidaria and Fundación Clarós carry out many missions and bring happiness to many people. If each of us contributes a little, this world will be a better place.

I’ve learned so much. I’ve met so many good people: the ones who organized everything (Vero—thank you so much, you’re a sweetheart), Fundación Clarós led by Pedro and Carmen (whom I admire for making this their way of life), Valentín, the doctor in Cameroon who organized it all (a role model to his people for understanding that the future of his country is in his hands), and of course, all the other doctors, anesthesiologists… (who gave their all in every operation, despite limited resources, to ensure everything went well).

It’s a turning point kind of trip. Thank you, thank you, a thousand thanks.

I would love to experience it all again, but even if I don’t, I’m happy just knowing others will. Keep going.
