A trip I will never forget—nor the people I met there or all that I learned, which, believe me, was a lot.

I honestly can’t think of a better way to start 2018—completely renewed. I hope that my time at that hospital helped offer a new opportunity to some of the people I cared for. It was a trip I will never forget—nor the people I met there or all that I learned, which, believe me, was a lot (on every level). I recommend it to everyone.

I especially remember one of the people I fitted with a hearing aid—a 17-year-old boy who attended a special school for children with disabilities. He had severe hearing loss and wasn’t paying attention in class. After the fitting, his speech therapist—who also happened to be his Spanish teacher—called me personally to thank me. She said he had changed completely since receiving the hearing aid. I even heard her get emotional, and I have to admit I did too. I’m convinced that thanks to our work, this young man now has greater opportunities ahead of him.
